About Us

Active Minds is a leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and reduce the stigma surrounding illness. It works to change the culture on college campuses by educating the public, connecting students with resources, creating leadership opportunities for mental health warriors and allies, and training the next generation of advocates.

The Amherst College Chapter is a completely student-run club which increases awareness of mental health issues, provides information on mental health disorders and connects students to campus and community resources, and encourages students to seek help as soon as they need it.

Through campus-wide events and participation in national programs, Active Minds aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health issues, and create a comfortable environment for an open conversation about mental health at Amherst.
